We are nearing the end of our redecoration project. One of the last things we have to do is put things on the walls in our bedroom. I want a big focal point over our bed, and I'm thinking a triptych (a piece of art divided into thirds) would be perfect.
I fell in love with these when I was watching a recent episode of
Giuliana and Bill. (Don't judge me. I love that show.) In their new house, they hung an amazing octopus triptych.
(Side note: How amazing is that nursery? I am obsessed with the monogrammed crib and Dwell chevron rug.)
If our bedroom wasn't already a very similar shade of blue, I'd run out and buy the same piece right now. Instead, I'm thinking a photo from a place we've traveled would be great.
Or we could go with something a little more graphic, like the octopus:
Or there's one of my go-to favorites: the map.
Which one is your favorite? What do you think of triptychs?
I like the map idea, and also the one of the skyline!
ReplyDelete(Side note, at first I didn't see the octopus in that first picture, nor did I know what I was supposed to be looking for, since I didn't know what a triptych was. I thought you were talking about the canoe-looking thing on the ceiling, and I was like, uhhh octopus? #dumb)
hahahaha
DeleteLove, love, love the whale. Love it. I also like the blank white map.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for teaching me a new word!
Love these all. But, I do love maps. Never knew what they were called! The only thing I hate is lining them up.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, Adam is a super perfectionist when it comes to hanging pictures, so I won't have to worry about lining them up myself. (I'm more of a "just eyeball it" kind of picture-hanger.)
DeleteHA! Just like Allie mentioned, I was looking at the thing on the ceiling before looking at the octopus because I didn't know that's what the art was called. Love all of these, especially the last map on the 3 canvases that you posted. I really would love to do that with a picture from one of our trips.
