Book Report: Gone Girl

Gone Girl starts with Midwestern couple Amy and Nick Dunne on their 5-year wedding anniversary. As we learn more about them and their marriage, we learn that not everything is as perfect as it seems on the surface. But no one can possibly anticipate what will happen next.

This story is like an onion, and it's so much fun peeling back the layers. It took me a little while to get into the book, but then I devoured it after the plot twist in the middle. From that point on, I absolutely loved it...until the end.

The ending is what everyone who reads this book wants to talk about. I don't want to give spoilers, but I wasn't thrilled. However, I think any ending would have been controversial given just how crazy these characters are

There is a movie version coming out this October. You'll definitely find me in the theatre, reliving this gripping story. Plus, I heard the ending will be different.

  1. I am OBSESSED with Gone Girl and so so so excited for the movie. You might like some of Gillian Flynn's other books; Sharp Objects was really good too!

    1. I'm really curious how they'll end the movie. As much as I disliked the ending of the book, I kind of feel like it was the only way it could've ended, you know?

  4. I loved Gone Girl, I basically read it in a day while at work (shhh). Such flawed, fascinating characters. I can't wait to see what the movie does with the ending!
