The 86th Academy Awards

Last night were the Oscars. Despite having only seen two of the nominated films, I was excited to watch because the lovely Ellen was hosting! She did a great job, and I actually enjoyed the show for the first time in years. Here are my best and worst moments of the night.

Best Dressed: Giuliana Rancic

Daily Mail

You guys, what's up with Oscar fashion? I thought everyone was boring last year, and they were boring this year, too! Even the stunningly gorgeous Lupita N'yongo was just meh for me. The only person I really loved wasn't even an actor!

Worst Dressed: Pharell Williams

Pop Sugar

Pharell wore a SHORTS TUXEDO. I have no words.

Best Jewelry: Julia Roberts' earrings

Bella Sugar

So sparkly. So Art Deco. So fab.

Most Awkward Moment: John Travolta calling Idina Menzel "Adele Dazeem"

Also awkward: Those plugs. Yeesh.

Moment During Which I Yelled at My TV: Pink's performance of "Over the Rainbow"

Just Jared

PHRASING, GIRL! Do not breathe in between syllables of words! That dress was fab, though.

Did you watch the Oscars? What'd you think?

  1. I agree on your choices. However a few comments of my own. Best Dressed, Cate Blanchett,. And why didn't they have Liza sing the song or have Judy Garland sing with Pink like Natalie Cole did with her dad.

    1. I was wondering the same thing. Liza and Lorna would've been wonderful!

  2. Um, I totally agree with you about Pink's phrasing! Did she really need a breath between "some" and "where" at the very beginning?! It was infuriating as a vocalist. My cousin and I literally screamed "He's wearing shorts! He's wearing shorts!" like crazy people. And Charlize Theron looked fabulous in Valentino, I thought. Cate Blanchett's earrings were my favorite jewelry. Julia's dress looked frumpy to me.
